Harassment and Discrimination in the Workplace Social Media Campaign and Women’s Equality Day 2018 Celebration
Harassment and Discrimination in the Workplace Group presents the Women’s Equality Day 2018 Celebration, commemorating the 98th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote and features Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani and Nevada State Senator Pat Spearman speaking on the importance of gender equality. This event culminates a month-long social media campaign designed for Facebook, LinkedIn and twitter regarding harassment and discrimination in the workplace. The multi-part social media campaign kicks off on Monday, August 13 with a historical timeline of workplace milestones and continues with educational components for those who have been harassed as well as for employers outlining best practices to prevent and manage harassment claims. Other components feature notable local women who experienced harassment and/or discrimination and went on to lead accomplished careers. The campaign ends with a video series titled Man to Man, a frank conversation on how to become a good guy ally to women in the workplace.
