Deborah Havert

For 14 years Deborah Havert has been a champion for Emotional Intelligence and Leadership development as an educator, master trainer, consultant, and coach. She was trained by the largest, global Emotional Intelligence organization, Six Seconds, which is a nonprofit network of change makers committed to supporting 1 billion people to practice Emotional Intelligence. In her capacity as consultant, Deborah has shared research she has done on the importance of integrating social and emotional learning with students and the leadership at schools at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and Educational Research Bureau (ERB). She has trained and problem-solved with organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Crisis Intervention, and the Episcopal Diocese of Texas.

 

Deborah Havert has drawn on her extensive experience in education as Associate Head of Synapse School in Menlo Park, CA, Assistant Director of the Lower School at The Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA as well as many years teaching in various schools in Houston, TX, Lancaster, PA, and Bryn Mawr, PA.

 

She is the author of English and study skills curricula and is co-author with social worker, Heather Constantine, of a new book on promoting important conversations within families, schools, and organizations, entitled, Conversing On The Real: Authentic Conversations About Living Plugged In.  Deborah is also a playwright and composer.

 

Community service has been an integral part of Deborah's life. She has served on various boards of trustees related to the arts, education, and health. Specifically, Deborah has worked on the Victory Committee for the American Cancer Society, board member of Actors’ Company of Pennsylvania, board member of The Baldwin School, and currently board member of Ephrata Performing Arts Center and Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund. Deborah has been a member of the Junior League in the cities of Lancaster, Houston, and Philadelphia.
