My name is Danielle Gelinas. I am a rising junior at Loyola University Maryland and I am studying actuarial science and computer science. I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in Ocean City, Maryland. Currently, I live in Baltimore on Loyola’s beautiful evergreen campus.
I am a member of the Math and Statistics club, a recent alumni of Baltimore College Town LeaderShape program, and a new member of the Peer Conduct Board on campus. I have a job on campus at Disability Support Services as an exam proctor, and during the summer I am a full-time waitress at Ropewalk in Ocean City. During my free time, I enjoy reading books, playing chess, going to the movies, exercising, trying new foods, travelling (especially abroad), and exploring Baltimore/Washington DC. Outside of actuarial science and computer science, I am interested in the study of economics and music.
This summer, I have a lot of great things I am looking forward to. I am studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic at St. Charles University for the entire month of July. While I am there, I will be studying theology, Czech culture and history. This will be my first visit to a European country, and I am looking forward to fully immersing myself by learning about Czech livelihood, getting to know the people and place, appreciating the historical relevance, and forming unforgettable memories at some of the most beautiful, awesome places with my classmates and instructors. In addition, I look forward to working with you and learning more about gender intelligence and how it can serve and enhance our community.
